Web hosting and Domain name registar

Web hosting is a type of Internet hosting service that allows individuals and organizations to make their own website via the access of the World Wide Web. Web hosts are companies that provide space on a server they own or lease for use by their clients as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center. Web hosts can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation. Web hosting is often provided as part of a general Internet access plan and also there are many free and paid providers offering these services. A customer needs to evaluate the requirements of the application to choose what kind of hosting to use.

A domain name registrar is an organization or commercial entity, authorize by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers or even as well as by the national country code top-level domain authority, to manage the reservation of Internet domain names in accordance with the guidelines of the designated domain name registries and offer such services to the public. Only the designated registrar may modify or delete information about a domain name. The competition that the SRS created enables end users to choose from many registrars offering different services at varying prices. It is not unusual for an end user to switch registrars which invokes a domain transfer process governed by specific domain name transfer policies. A Domain name transfer is the process of changing the designated registrar of a domain name.
Report

From looking at the six websites that I have reviewed I can see the differences and similarities between an English charity website and an American one as well, plus what could make all of the positives of the differences and similarities work in my very own website. Firstly I have seen that photos on a website does make a difference in the way you react to seeing the page rather than seeing a screen full of writing and no direction. Pictures do tell a story if their set out in the right way for a website, like if the website is a cancer charity you will find that pictures are going to look happy and full of joy or hope that there will eventually be a cure, and if it is a children’s charity website pictures will appeal to the feelings of the child more than anything else. Some of the negative things that I have come across looking at these websites is the over the top need to advertise themselves on social websites which I do believe is quite unnecessary to have it pictured across the middle of your homepage. It takes the emphasis away from what the website actually stands for. Overall I think all of the websites I have written about are all good and all suit their purpose apart from the odd pieces which bring the website down.

Certain conventions of most website designs can be seen from the logo which is always at the top left of the website and normally never goes anywhere else on the page, which follows the normal conventions of a typical website page and this goes the same for the search bar which is always at the top right hand side of the page and can normally be linked to another webpage to show the audience exactly what they are looking for. Most of these websites all use a useful colour scheme to fit their website which is also a typical convention of a webpage and can sometimes present their charity well, especially if a certain colour is used that could represent something. For example, red represents blood, love and passion whereas green represents nature and a sense of freedom.
